CropMetrics recently entered into a formal agreement with Valley Irrigation to provide precision data services for all Valley VRI controls. With the new VRI Optimization service now available through participating Valley dealers worldwide, Valley Irrigation is leading the way with the center pivot industry’s first and only true precision VRI solution. Valley Irrigation recently introduced Valley VRI for both VRI Speed Control and VRI Zone Control and received both the 2011 Irrigation Association New Product Contest Award and the 2011 AE50 Award for top 50 new technologies in agriculture.
For VRI Speed Control, all Valley Pro2 and Select2 control panels are capable of storing up to five different VRI Speed Control prescriptions adjustable every two degrees or up to 180 sectors around the field. Likewise, all Valley Base Station, TrackerSP and TrackerLT remote management systems are capable of two-degree control and wireless uploading of an unlimited number of VRI prescriptions.
The Valley TrackerLT is a low-cost GPS-based remote telemetry unit that universally mounts on most any brand electric-drive center pivot equipped with any mechanical or computerized control panel. The Valley TrackerLT is the simplest and most economical way to convert virtually any center pivot into a precision Variable Rate Irrigation solution.
For VRI Zone Control, Valley VRI enables any center pivot equipped with a Valley Pro2 control panel to remotely manage up to 15 VRI Zone Control units. Power line communication allows each individual VRI Zone Control unit to be easily positioned at any point along the pivot span. Each VRI Zone Control unit can control two independent zones of sprinklers utilizing cycle time to control the irrigation application depth in as many as 5,400 management zones. Because the new VRI Zone Control utilizes the on-board computing power of Valley’s top of the line Pro2 control panel in combination with power line communication and field-proven Aquamatic valves, the added VRI equipment cost is very reasonable.
